Will the Apple Watch Re-invent Mobile Banking and Wealth Management?

Apple has postponed the release of its Apple Watch to June 2015. The delay is probably caused by the high number of pre-orders which is estimated at between 2-3 million units. In anticipation of this launch, a fresh spotlight is shining on “wearables” - a category of devices that are worn on the body and that provide instant access to mobile applications.
The Apple Watch has been described as watch-like, but more of an extension to a phone. Will it play a leading role as part of a broader wearables trend thanks to Apple’s leading edge marketing? Will this be the start of wearable wealth management and a new era for mobile banking apps?
