- Why should I become member and add a profile?
Your investor personality is not only described by the investments that you make but also by your goals, interests and experiences. We encourage you to write more about yourself, keeping yourself anonymous, in your profile so that members with similar interest and objectives can easily find each other and take advantage of the unique feature of our platform: Exchange ideas and experiences directly, client to client: First-hand, unbiased and anonymous.
- How do you maintain the privacy of the members of the "MyWealth" platform?
We encourage all members to register with an anonymous username on our platform in order to maintain their privacy. In addition we provide SSL encrypted data transmission for all sensitive data. We also advise all users not to disclose their names, addresses, telephone numbers etc. to any person they do not completely trust.
- How do you keep the banks from using your platform as a marketing tool?
Bank employees and wealth managers can become members of our platform. We appreciate the expertise as long as they place their "cards on the table" and do not solicit business. Consequently we require that they identify themselves as a member involved in financial services as an occupation. When the mouse pointer is moved over their name it would be indicated that this member is a professional wealth manager. Thus everybody on the platform would be clear when they talk to a banker. In addition we keep a very close eye (including IP checks) on our groups/forums where advertising and guerrilla marketing are strictly prohibited. When we identify "undercover bankers" we expel them immediately.
- Why is MyPrivateBanking.com based in Switzerland?
Switzerland is the leading location for private banks and wealth managers worldwide. Many affluent people entrust their money to banks based in Switzerland. Consequently a lot of the best industry specialists from all over the world live and work in Switzerland. Nevertheless, we have a truly global outlook and dedicated analysts covering the various regions.
- I work for a wealth manager or private bank. Can I become a member?
MyPrivateBanking.com is for clients of private banks and wealth managers. However, we welcome you and your expertise in our community as long as you clearly identify your profession and employer during the registration process. You as a person can stay anonymous and when other members do a mouse-over on your member name it would be shown that you work in the wealth management industry.
- How does MyPrivateBanking.com make money?
Our services are completely free. A free membership registration is all you need. We do not generate any income from banks or any other financial service providers in order to keep our independence. In the future we may offer additional fee-based premium services for our members.
- Why are the founders not from the banking industry?
The founders are not bankers but have been clients of several international private banks and wealth managers for many years. Having experienced the need for independent research on wealth managers themselves, they feel that they are in a better position to understand the needs of the users of MyPrivateBanking.com than a banker.
- Why should I use the "MyPortfolio" tool?
Our portfolio tool allows you to keep quarterly track of the overall performance of your investments and as well changes in your asset allocation. Your data is completely anonymous as long as you do not use your real name as username. We encourage you to keep you profile public, meaning visible to other registered members – not all users of the website. Keeping it public allows you to share insights on strategy, services, providers and products with other members with similar portfolios.
- Is a membership at MyPrivateBanking.com only useful for the super-wealthy?
Not at all! Everybody interested in wealth management and who respects our Terms and Conditions can become a member. We do not require a minimum wealth level for membership. Individuals who might have only little assets today can become wealthy in the future. We are interested in all people who think strategically about their wealth and portfolio decisions. However, our website is not made for the day trader or people who are interested in specific financial products like mortgages, specific stocks or insurance. We DO NOT give any investment advice.
- What happens with the information I provide during registration?
We only ask for a little information on your location, occupation, wealth range and age in order to facilitate the exchange with other members. It allows users to search for others in comparable situations and facilitates the matching of users with similar background. Since no user is encouraged to disclose their real name this information is completely anonymous.
- I am a journalist. Can I use the information from your website?
You can use any information from our research provided you refer to MyPrivateBanking.com as source. If you contact members directly we require that you to disclose from the outset if you have any journalistic interests in contacting them. If you have any additional questions on wealth management and our research we welcome you to contact us through our contact form.

- I forgot my password, how can I retrieve it?
If you cannot remember your password please click the link "Forgot password" below the Login form and enter your registered email address. You will then be sent an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
- I forgot my username, how can I retrieve it?
If you cannot remember your username please click the link "Forgot username" below the Login form and enter your registered email address. You will then be sent an email with your username.
- I am not able to upload my photo.
If you are unable to upload a photo you may be using a file that is too large in size or an unsupported file type. Images must be with one of the following extensions: jpg, jpeg, gif, png.
- How do I send a contact request to another user?
While viewing the profile of a user to whom you wish to send a contact request, click on "Send invitations". That user will then be sent a contact request notification that they can either accept or deny.
- How do I send a message to a contact?
Communicating with other members is easy. You can send a message while viewing any user’s profile by selecting the "Send Message" button. You can also select "Compose" from your Inbox, and type in the name of contacts you would like to message.
- How do I join a group?
While viewing the group that you wish to join, click the link "Join this group".
- How do I create my own group?
To create your own group, simply go to the groups main page and on the top of the right column click "Create Group". You will be taken to a page where you would fill in the group title and description. We will activate the group within 24 hours and send you a mail reminding you to add a first topic and posting.
- How do I control the settings on my account?
After login go to "MyWealth" and click on "My Profile". Go to "Edit Additional Info" and simply check or uncheck the boxes for the information you want to give or receive and your profile will be modified after you click "save".
- How do I report abuse?
We continuously check if members have written any topics, comments or postings that violate our Terms and Conditions e.g., using foul language, insulting individuals or soliciting business. Within the group section you can raise an alarm by simply clicking "Report Abuse" if you feel a posting is inappropriate.
- How do I search for other articles, research and users?
Type the term you are looking for in the search box in the upper right corner of the website. The search results will be highlighted in yellow differentiated into articles, reports, videos, groups and users. Within the group section we have a specific search box just for searches within groups.
- How do I personalise my profile?
In "MyProfile" click on "Personalise my Profile" or "Edit personal info". You will be taken to a page with various entry fields where you can write more about yourself and your investor experiences and also mark interests that you have in investing and lifestyle.
- How do I use the "MyPortfolio" tool?
Click on the "MyPortfolio" tab within "MyWealth" and then click on "Update Portfolio". You will be taken to a page where you can enter the amounts you have invested in various asset classes. Just click on "Add Data for the current quarter" and fields for the data entry will open. After completion click "Save".
